Miami airport transfersThe right shape for a day in Brickell and Downtown with several stops. The car waits between meetings, and parking is not your problem.
Hourly chauffeur in MiamiKey West, Palm Beach and Boca Raton, Naples and beyond, door to door, with your luggage staying in the car the entire way.
Intercity rides from MiamiPortMiami, Port Everglades, Port of Palm Beach, timed to embarkation windows rather than to the clock, with luggage handling included.
Miami cruise transfersA Miami chauffeur service is pre-arranged ground transport booked ahead at a fixed price, carried out by a licensed for-hire operator. It is not hailed on the street and not dispatched on demand. The vehicle, the chauffeur and the price are all settled before the day of travel, whether the booking is a MIA airport transfer, an hourly car service or a black car to a morning meeting.
In practice that distinction decides what happens when things go wrong. A metered taxi and a surge-priced app both re-price themselves when traffic turns or the weather does. A reserved Miami car service booking does not. The number you agreed is the number you pay, and it already contains the tolls, the airport access fees and the taxes.
The same reservation covers the rest of the region: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International transfers, Palm Beach International transfers, Miami-Opa Locka Executive transfers, and a car service to Key West when the trip runs further out. For companies moving people through the city regularly, corporate travel in Miami adds central billing and duty-of-care reporting on top of the same fleet.
Which one is right depends far more on where you are going than on which is nearest. Each has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.

Drive times are door to door from the arrivals kerb, not gate to gate, and they assume a direct private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle. Peak means roughly 07:00 to 10:00 and 15:30 to 19:30 on a weekday.
South Florida is a hundred mile corridor with two of the world's busiest cruise ports in the middle of it. Almost everything difficult here traces back to one of those two facts.
Miami Beach is an island, and every route to it crosses a causeway. The MacArthur, the Julia Tuttle, the Venetian and the 79th Street each serve different parts of the Beach and each fails at different times. On an event weekend, during Art Basel or Miami Music Week, or when a bridge opens for shipping, a twenty five minute transfer becomes an hour. The causeway choice belongs to the operator and it does not change your price, which is the point of booking a fixed fare here.
Cruise mornings are the other event. PortMiami and Port Everglades between them handle an extraordinary volume, and on a Saturday in season the roads into both are saturated from early morning. Port Everglades is ten to twenty minutes from Fort Lauderdale and around forty from Miami, which is why choosing your arrival airport by which port you are sailing from is usually the better decision. Embarkation transfers are timed to boarding windows rather than the clock and luggage runs heavier than air travel, so size a class up.
Florida's expressways are all-electronic. The Dolphin, the Airport Expressway, the Turnpike, the Gratigny and the Palmetto sections are tolled by transponder or plate with no cash option, and on almost every airport run the tolled route is materially faster than the free one. Those charges are on the vehicle and inside your quoted price, along with airport access fees.
The calendar matters more here than in most cities. Art Basel in December, the Formula One weekend at Miami Gardens in the spring, Miami Music Week, the boat show and the Super Bowl when it comes each take the region's vehicle capacity off the market entirely. Those are book-months-ahead weeks.
Details above were checked against public sources at the time of writing. Rates, terminal assignments and construction timelines in this section change faster than any website updates, so treat your chauffeur's message on the day as the authority.
Published transfer times are usually the best case. These are ranges, and the upper end happens often enough to plan around.
| Route | Off-peak | Weekday peak | What moves it |
|---|---|---|---|
| MIA to Brickell and Downtown | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 65 min | The Dolphin Expressway, tolled and usually worth it |
| MIA to South Beach | 25 to 40 min | 45 to 80 min | The MacArthur Causeway, and the causeways are the whole story |
| MIA to Coral Gables | 15 to 25 min | 30 to 50 min | The shortest run from this airport |
| MIA to PortMiami | 20 to 30 min | 35 to 70 min | Embarkation morning is a different city entirely |
| FLL to Port Everglades | 10 to 20 min | 20 to 40 min | Barely a journey, and the reason FLL suits many sailings better |
| MIA to Aventura and Sunny Isles | 35 to 50 min | 55 to 95 min | I-95 north, or Biscayne when I-95 fails |
Each route above has its own page with pricing by vehicle class, the roads actually used and the times worth avoiding.
Intercity runs are priced as one fixed fare for the whole journey, not per hour, so the traffic is our problem rather than yours.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Key West | 160 miles | 3h 30 to 4h 30 | One road the whole way, and no way to hurry it |
| Palm Beach and Boca Raton | 70 miles | 1h 10 to 1h 45 | I-95 or the Turnpike, a daily corporate movement |
| Naples | 125 miles | 2h to 2h 30 | Across Alligator Alley, straight and empty |
| Orlando | 235 miles | 3h 30 to 4h 30 | The Turnpike north, tolled the whole way |
| Fort Myers | 155 miles | 2h 15 to 2h 45 | Alligator Alley then north |
| The Everglades | 40 miles | 50 to 70 min | Usually booked hourly with waiting time |
| Terminal | Location | Typical transfer |
|---|---|---|
| PortMiami | Dodge Island, Miami | 20 to 30 min from MIA |
| Port Everglades | Fort Lauderdale | 10 to 20 min from FLL |
| Port of Palm Beach | Riviera Beach | 20 to 30 min from PBI |
Embarkation day luggage runs heavier than air travel for the same trip length, because there is no airline weight limit pushing back. Size one class above your instinct and read the guidance on Miami cruise transfers before you book.
The chauffeur meeting you is dispatched by an operator based here, not routed in from another market.
The capacity below is the honest number, not the manufacturer maximum. Carrying full-size cases, take the next class up.

No meter, no surge multiplier, and no line item that appears after the ride is over.
Miami International connects to the Metrorail and Tri-Rail through the MIA Mover and the Miami Intermodal Center, and for a single traveller heading to Brickell or Downtown with a light bag it works and it is inexpensive. South Beach is walkable once you are on it, and for short hops within the Beach a car is often the slowest option available.
A chauffeur earns its price on cruise mornings, with families and luggage, for the Palm Beach and Boca corridor where the distance is real, for the Keys where the drive is the day, during any of the big event weeks when apps become unreliable and expensive at once, and for corporate movements between Brickell and the Beach where parking is the actual expense.
The full cost and time comparison against the meter is on Miami taxi versus chauffeur.
The terminal assignment, the pickup zone that moved last month, the parking permit for that garage. None of it reaches you.

It depends far more on your destination than on distance. Miami International (MIA), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL), Palm Beach International (PBI) are the main options, and the drive times differ enough that the cheapest ticket is often not the cheapest arrival. The table above sets out distance and typical drive time for each, and every airport has its own page with terminal detail and pickup arrangements.
In the designated pre-arranged pickup area for your terminal, with the chauffeur calling as you reach the doors. Pickup zones at MIA change during construction and reorganisation, so the operator confirms the current meeting point on the morning of your flight rather than relying on anything printed in advance. Being met inside arrivals on your name is a paid add-on.
Between 20 to 30 min off-peak and 35 to 65 min in weekday peak traffic, door to door from the arrivals kerb. Published figures shorter than that usually describe a quiet Sunday morning. Each route from the airport has its own page with the roads used and the times worth avoiding.
Yes. Bridge, tunnel and expressway tolls, express lane charges, airport access fees and taxes are all inside the price quoted at the time of booking. Ride-hailing apps and taxis add these to your fare per trip, which is why two apparently similar quotes can settle very differently at the end of the ride.
Yes. Every vehicle is run by a for-hire operator licensed in its own jurisdiction, with licensing and insurance verified before they can take a booking rather than checked per ride.
Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the schedule, which covers immigration, baggage and customs. Every other pickup includes 15 minutes. Beyond the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate and you are told before it starts.
At least 3 hours before pickup so the operator can assign and brief a chauffeur, though RYDES takes reservations up to a year out. For group vehicles and for the busy weeks noted above, book as early as you can, because availability runs out long before price becomes the problem.
Add your flight number and we track the aircraft. A delay moves your pickup automatically and costs nothing, with free waiting starting at the actual landing time. A diversion is handled by dispatch, who will re-brief a chauffeur to the new field where the operator has coverage. Dispatch answers around the clock on +1 888 881 7933.
Yes, with a two-hour minimum in 30-minute increments. The chauffeur waits between stops and nothing runs while you are inside a meeting. Once a day involves three or more stops, hourly hire is usually cheaper than separate transfers once you count the waiting you would have done anyway.
Yes, both, and they are among our largest Florida bookings. PortMiami is twenty to thirty minutes from Miami International and Port Everglades is ten to twenty from Fort Lauderdale, which is worth factoring into which airport you fly into. Bookings are timed to your boarding window rather than the clock, luggage handling is included, and on a Saturday morning in season the roads into both ports are saturated from early, so we build that into the pickup time.
Miami is the international gateway and the right answer for Brickell, the Beach and Coral Gables. Fort Lauderdale is the better field for Port Everglades sailings, Las Olas and most of Broward, and often the cheaper flight. Palm Beach is genuinely closer for Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Jupiter, which are an hour and a half from Miami. Choose by destination rather than by which name you recognise.
Yes. South Florida's expressways are all-electronic with no cash option, and the Dolphin, the Turnpike, the Airport Expressway and the rest are charged to the vehicle. On a RYDES booking those charges are inside the price quoted at booking along with airport access fees. On most runs here the tolled route is significantly faster, so the operator takes it as a matter of course.
