What is a Seville chauffeur service?

A Seville chauffeur service is private transport booked in advance at a fixed price and carried out by a licensed VTC operator: a company authorised under Spain's national transport law, the Ley de Ordenación de los Transportes Terrestres, and working within the Junta de Andalucía's VTC rules in Decreto-ley 8/2022. The car cannot be flagged down and does not cruise for fares. The vehicle class, the chauffeur and the euro price are agreed before pickup, whether the trip is a Seville Airport transfer, an hourly car service in the old town or a black car to a meeting at FIBES.

In Spain a chauffeur car is a VTC: it can only move with a contract already in place, which is exactly how a RYDES booking works. Andalusia asks for every VTC ride to be booked at least 15 minutes ahead; RYDES needs three hours, so that rule is met before the operator has even assigned the car. In return the number does not move. A Seville car service quote already contains the 10 percent IVA and any charge the airport makes for the pickup, and it stays the same at 2am on a Feria night as at noon on a Tuesday.

The same reservation reaches well past the city. SVQ to Jerez for the sherry bodegas, a car service to Cádiz on the toll-free AP-4, Seville to Córdoba for the Mezquita, and Seville to Faro across the Portuguese border. If you are weighing it against a cab, the Seville taxi alternative page sets the official fares beside ours. Teams in town every month for trade fairs at FIBES can use corporate travel in Seville for central billing on the same fleet.

Every airport that serves Seville.

Seville has one airport of its own, with spare capacity after its refurbishment. Jerez and Málaga are the realistic alternatives when the fare or the route favours them.

Drive times are door to door and assume a direct private car, not a shared shuttle. Peak here means weekday commuting hours and the evenings around big events; Semana Santa, Feria week and the El Rocío pilgrimage behave differently and are best planned on their own terms.

Where your chauffeur actually meets you.

SVQ is a single terminal, which removes one source of confusion. The access roads are another matter, and they have been changing.

Seville Airport.

Seville Airport handled 9,686,487 passengers on 73,141 flights in 2025, up 5.6 percent, and Aena expects it to pass 10 million in 2026. It all runs through one refurbished terminal at about half its capacity, so the kerb, not the building, is the bottleneck. On 17 March 2026 the airport opened the P7 express car park, 164 spaces between the arrivals tunnel and the rental car park, with the first 10 minutes free, built specifically to stop cars waiting on the access roads.

The arrivals access roads have also been in the middle of a reconfiguration since the works were awarded in June 2025, so a pickup point that was right last year may not be right now. For that reason this page does not name a door. Your chauffeur confirms the exact meeting point in the message sent before you land, and any short-stay or car park charge the pickup incurs is already inside the price. Timings into town are on SVQ to Santa Cruz and SVQ to the Hotel Alfonso XIII.

  • The named meeting point, the free defaultThe express car park or VTC point your chauffeur gives you in the pre-arrival message, a short walk from baggage reclaim.
  • Meet and greet, a paid add-onYour chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with your name and takes the trolley from there, useful with children or a lot of luggage.
  • One terminalEvery airline uses the same building, so there is no terminal to check and no transfer between them.
SVQ arrivals · 900 × 600

Santa Justa station.

Most rail arrivals into Seville come through Santa Justa, the high-speed station on the east side of the centre, a few minutes from Nervión. Taxis collecting there add a €3.70 station supplement to the meter. A RYDES pickup at Santa Justa carries no supplement: the quote is the quote, and the chauffeur is waiting when your train is in.

Andalusia's VTC rules keep empty, unbooked chauffeur cars from circulating within 300 metres of airports, ports and train or bus stations. In practice your chauffeur approaches for your booked arrival rather than waiting on the forecourt. From Santa Justa, FIBES and the airport side of the city are both short runs.

Private aviation at SVQ.

Seville has no dedicated FBO. Every private flight needs prior permission, passengers clear customs inside the commercial terminal, and meeting anyone on the ramp is not allowed. Your chauffeur meets you where an airline passenger would be met, once you are through the terminal.

Business-jet parking is tight in April, July and August. If the apron is full and your crew lands at Jerez instead, dispatch re-briefs the chauffeur to the new airport and the fare for the longer drive is confirmed before it changes.

Airport and station details above were checked against public sources in October 2026. The access roads at SVQ are being reworked, so treat your chauffeur's pre-arrival message as the authority on where to walk.

Tolls, IVA and the old-town gates.

Seville has no congestion charge and the main motorway south has been free since 2020. What shapes a trip here is the historic centre, where access is controlled street by street.

The AP-4 between Seville and Cádiz, the road to Jerez and the coast, has been toll-free since 2020. Where a longer route does use a toll road, such as the AP-7 along the Costa del Sol towards Marbella, the toll sits inside your RYDES price. Every fare carries the reduced 10 percent IVA that applies to passenger transport, and it is inside the number too. The one thing left out is parking you ask for, for example if you want the car held in a paid car park during a long lunch.

The Casco Antiguo and Triana are Restricted Traffic Zones (ZTR) under the city's Resolution 1187 of 20 December 2021. Entry is limited to residents, garage users, hotel and tourist-apartment guests, invited guests, people with reduced mobility, and drivers heading to public car parks. Hotel guests can enter without limit up to the hotel's parking capacity, or twice on the day of arrival and the day of departure for up to an hour each time. The resolution does not mention taxis or VTCs, so a drop-off at an old-town hotel is arranged through the hotel's own access registration. Dispatch confirms it with the hotel beforehand. Separately, the La Cartuja low-emission zone (ZBE) restricts vehicles with no DGT environmental label on weekdays from 07:00 to 19:00, with fines since 1 January 2026; RYDES operators' cars meet the zone rules for the route.

Several travel sites still quote the old €24.98 and €27.84 taxi fares; the €26 and €29 figures are the current ones. The full side-by-side is on Seville taxi versus chauffeur.

How long it really takes.

Seville is compact and SVQ is close, so the airport runs are short. The variation comes from the ring roads at commuting time, the narrow approach to the old town, and the weeks when processions or the fairground close streets.

Typical door-to-door driving times on common Seville routes, for a direct private vehicle.
RouteOff-peakWeekday peakWhat moves it
SVQ to Santa Cruz and the Cathedral15 to 25 min25 to 40 minThe final approach into the old town, plus the ZTR access arrangement
SVQ to the Hotel Alfonso XIII17 to 25 min25 to 40 minClose to the Puerta de Jerez, on the edge of the restricted zone
SVQ to Plaza de España17 to 25 min25 to 40 minAlong the southern avenues, slower on event evenings in the park
SVQ to Triana18 to 28 min30 to 45 minAcross the river, and inside its own restricted zone
SVQ to Isla de la Cartuja16 to 25 min25 to 40 minThe north side of the centre; low-emission zone on weekdays
SVQ to FIBES8 to 12 min12 to 20 minThe shortest run in the city, both on the airport side
SVQ to Jerez1 h 10 to 1 h 301 h 25 to 1 h 50The toll-free AP-4 south, plus the cross-town start from the airport
Jerez Airport to Seville1 h 10 to 1 h 251 h 20 to 1 h 45The AP-4 north, slowest as it meets the Seville ring roads

The calendar moves these numbers more than traffic does. During Semana Santa, 21 to 28 March 2027, the processions close much of the centre for hours at a time, and some old-town hotels can only be reached on foot for the last stretch. Feria de Abril falls two weeks after Easter, expected in mid-April 2027, and the roads around the fairground in Los Remedios fill every evening. For a flight you cannot miss in either week, book early and allow half the off-peak time again.

Leaving town.

Day trips and transfers out of Seville are quoted as one fare for the whole journey, so a slow exit from the city is the operator's problem rather than an extra on your bill.

Málaga214 km2 h 40 to 3 h 15Also the run to Málaga Airport for long-haul departures
Granada253 km3 h 05 to 3 h 45The Alhambra; book the timed entry before you book the car

Faro is inside the Schengen area and there are no routine border checks, but a run into Portugal is still confirmed by dispatch at booking rather than sold automatically, because the operator has to be able to carry the trip. Málaga and the Costa del Sol connect to our own hubs at Malaga and Marbella, which is useful for one-way trips that end there.

When you should not book us.

Seville is cheap to get around, and for some trips the bus, the taxi or the train is simply the better choice.

Arriving alone at SVQ with a carry-on and a hotel near Plaza de Armas, the EA airport bus run by TUSSAM is hard to argue with. It costs €4, takes about 35 minutes, runs from 04:30 to 00:05, and stops at Santa Justa, San Bernardo, Paseo de Colón and Plaza de Armas. If you would rather go door to door on your own, the official airport taxi fare is €26 on weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00 and €29 at night, at weekends and on holidays. For Madrid, the high-speed train is still the obvious answer, even at 2.5 to 3 hours with the current speed restrictions in Córdoba province, and a lone traveller to Córdoba will usually get there faster by rail too.

A chauffeur earns its fee somewhere else: four people and their luggage, children who need seats, a hotel inside the old town where access has to be arranged, a landing after the last bus, a Santa Justa pickup without the supplement, a full day across Jerez and Cádiz, or a late return from the Feria fairground. The detailed comparison is on Seville taxi versus chauffeur.

Where does my chauffeur meet me at Seville Airport?

At the meeting point named in the message your chauffeur sends before you land. SVQ has a single terminal, and since March 2026 it has the P7 express car park between the arrivals tunnel and the rental car park, but the arrivals access roads are being reconfigured, so we confirm the exact point per trip rather than publish one. Meet and greet inside arrivals is a paid add-on. See Seville Airport transfer.

How long is the drive from Seville Airport to the city centre?

About 11 km to Santa Cruz and the Cathedral, usually 15 to 25 minutes off-peak and 25 to 40 minutes at busy times. Triana takes a little longer, and FIBES, on the airport side of the city, is 8 to 12 minutes. See SVQ to Santa Cruz and SVQ to FIBES.

How much is a taxi from Seville Airport?

The official fixed fare between the airport and the city, set by the resolution of 27 January 2026, is €26 on weekdays from 07:00 to 21:00 and €29 at night, at weekends and on holidays. Some websites still show the older €24.98 and €27.84. A RYDES price is fixed at booking for the whole car, with no night or holiday rate. The full comparison is on Seville taxi alternative.

Can you drive into the old town to my hotel?

Usually yes, with the hotel's help. The Casco Antiguo and Triana are Restricted Traffic Zones under Resolution 1187 of 20 December 2021. Hotel guests are allowed in, but the resolution does not mention taxis or VTCs, so the drop-off is arranged through the hotel's access registration. Give us the hotel name at booking and dispatch confirms the arrangement before your arrival.

Are your Seville chauffeurs licensed?

Yes. In Spain a chauffeur car is a VTC, authorised under the Ley de Ordenación de los Transportes Terrestres (LOTT, Ley 16/1987) and its regulation. Every trip must be contracted before it starts, proof travels in the car, and the operator files each trip in the Ministry of Transport's electronic VTC register (Real Decreto 785/2021) before it begins. In Andalusia, Decreto-ley 8/2022, upheld by the Constitutional Court in 2024, adds a 15-minute minimum booking time and bans showing available cars before booking. The 1-VTC-per-30-taxis ratio is still written in the law, but since the EU Court of Justice ruling of 8 June 2023 (C-50/21, Prestige and Limousine) Spanish courts no longer apply it automatically, as the Supreme Court confirmed in September 2026. Decreto-ley 2/2025 tightened the criteria for new Andalusian authorisations. RYDES arranges the trip; the licensed VTC operator carries it out.

Are IVA, tolls and airport charges included?

Yes. The 10 percent IVA on passenger transport, any motorway toll on the route and any short-stay or car park charge the airport makes for your pickup are inside the euro price quoted at booking. The AP-4 to Jerez and Cádiz has been toll-free since 2020. The only cost outside the quote is parking you ask for at a stop of your own.

Can a VTC pick me up anywhere in Spain?

Not quite. A VTC has to start its trips in the region where its authorisation is based, except for pre-booked pickups at airports and ports when the destination is in its home region. It may not cruise for passengers, wait at taxi ranks or carry taxi markings. RYDES assigns an operator authorised for your pickup.

Should I take the EA bus instead?

Sometimes, and we would rather say so. Travelling alone with a small bag to somewhere near its stops, the EA airport bus costs €4, takes about 35 minutes and runs from 04:30 to 00:05, calling at Santa Justa, San Bernardo, Paseo de Colón and Plaza de Armas. A chauffeur makes more sense with luggage, several people, children, an old-town hotel, or a landing after the last bus.

Is it better to take the train to Madrid or Córdoba?

For one or two people, usually yes. The Madrid–Seville high-speed line is running, though with speed restrictions in Córdoba province since the January 2026 Adamuz crash, and the trip typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours at the moment. Córdoba is also quicker by rail for a solo traveller. A car wins for a door-to-door day trip with stops, heavy luggage or a group. See Seville to Córdoba.

How much waiting time is included at the airport?

Sixty minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, tracked against the aircraft rather than the timetable. Every other pickup, including Santa Justa, includes 15 minutes. After the free window, waiting is billed in 15-minute increments at the vehicle class rate, and you are told before it starts.

What is the best way to get around during Semana Santa?

Plan around the processions rather than through them. Semana Santa runs from 21 to 28 March 2027, and the processions close much of the centre for long stretches. Dispatch plans drop-off points around the published routes, and booking early matters. See Semana Santa transport.

When is Feria de Abril in 2027?

Feria falls two weeks after Easter, and is expected in mid-April 2027; the official dates had not been published when this page was checked. The fairground in Los Remedios fills the surrounding roads every evening. A car held by the hour, or a booked return, saves looking for a ride at the end of the night. See Feria de Abril transport.

Can you take me to Jerez, Cádiz or Ronda for the day?

Yes. Jerez is about 92 km from the centre, usually 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 35, and Cádiz 121 km, about 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 55, both on the toll-free AP-4. Ronda is 127 km but slower on mountain roads, around 2 hours. A single destination is one fixed fare; a day with several stops is better booked by the hour. See Seville to Jerez, Seville to Cádiz and Seville to Ronda.

Can you drive me to Faro in Portugal?

Usually, but it is confirmed at booking. Faro is about 197 km from Seville, typically 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 50. Both countries are in the Schengen area, so there are no routine border checks, but the operator must be able to carry a cross-border trip, so dispatch confirms before the booking is accepted. Bring passports or ID cards anyway. See Seville to Faro.

How far ahead should I book in Seville?

At least 3 hours before pickup, which also comfortably meets Andalusia's 15-minute VTC rule; reservations open up to a year ahead. For Semana Santa, Feria, the El Rocío pilgrimage around Pentecost (main days 16 and 17 May 2027) and trade fairs at FIBES, book weeks in advance. Companies with regular travel can use corporate accounts.

What if my flight is delayed or diverted to Jerez?

Add your flight number and we track it. A delay moves the pickup automatically at no cost, and the free waiting starts from the real landing time. If the aircraft diverts to Jerez, dispatch re-briefs the chauffeur to XRY and confirms the fare for the longer drive with you. Seville is on CET, and clocks go back on 25 October 2026, so check the local arrival time on your booking.
